Ven. Geshe Thupten Rinchen la Ven. Geshe Thupten Rinchen la is our most respected teacher in our house, He and our beloved late Teacher Geshe Tenzin Wangdak la, are as our parents of Khangtsen [house]. Gen Thupten la is the main teacher in Sera Mey Monastery these days. He has taught thousand and thousand of students,including many high lamas and Geshes . He also give,s teachings on the main texts of pharchine, namdrel, u-ma and duwa . He used to give teachings to six to seven class every day. He start teaching from 1975 till now under the guidance of His Holiness the Dalai Lama.
Once he was put forward as a candidate for Abbot of the monastery. When he found out about that, he requested to be for withdraw from that, but he didn,t get permission. He then fled from the monastery as he really didn,t want to become the abbot,as he want to live like a very simple monk . He is really a symbol of khadam pa geshe in these days. He has no doubt in following every speech of His Holiness. At night is the best time for him to do meditation, as he doesn,t get time in the day as he needs to teach. These are some of his characteristics.
